Ronald Hanusch, 88, of Fargo, ND, passed away on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at Bethany Retirement Living, under the care of Ethos Hospice.

Ron was born March 9, 1935, in Moorhead, MN, to Edmund and Lillian (Murrey) Hanusch. Ron married Karen Kyllo on February 16, 1955. He served with the Fargo Fire Department for 33 years and held the rank of Captain for most of that time.

He is survived by his wife Karen, Fargo, ND; daughters Julie (Brad) Homan, Bloomington, MN. Joni (Paul) Hexum, Madison, Wisconsin; four grandchildren Emily (Logan) Deneff, Alec Homan, Kaitlin (Jack) Zarovy, Nick Hexum; two great-grandchildren Augustus Zarovy and Walter Deneff.

Funeral: Friday, March 22, 2024, at 11 AM in West Funeral Home, West Fargo, ND, with visitation held one hour prior to his service. Funeral Honors will be provided by members of the Fargo Fire Department.

Burial: Maple Sheyenne Cemetery, rural Harwood. ND.
