Post-prom committee seeks funds for alcohol-free student celebration
February 26, 2026
The Pelican Rapids Post Prom Committee is raising money to create a supervised, alcohol-free celebration for high school juniors and seniors after prom night. The group needs $20,000 to provide food, games, prizes, and activities that will keep students celebrating safely instead of driving after the big event.
The post-prom event is a long-standing tradition at Pelican Rapids High School designed to give students a fun place to continue celebrating with friends in a safe, structured environment. By offering engaging activities and entertainment on school grounds, organizers hope to reduce the risks associated with students driving after prom.
The committee is raising money through two main fundraising efforts. Donations can be made through a GoFundMe page at https://www.gofundme.com/f/pelican-post-prom. The group is also selling raffle tickets for $10 each, which can be purchased from committee members.
The raffle offers multiple prizes to encourage ticket sales. Winners can earn $500 cash, $200 cash, a $200 gift card to Lakes Elite Detail, a $150 Bison bundle, a $100 Larry’s Supermarket gift card, or one of two $50 Spanky’s Stone Hearth gift cards.
A healthy Otter Tail County requires great community news.
