A street scene from the 1920s is pictured. Notice the barrel water wagon rig, at right, which was owned by the city. The water was used to keep Main Street damp and the dust down. Note the recently installed concrete sidewalksβ€”but the unpaved street. Also, note the telephone poles on Main Street and the U.S. flag waving proudly from the city hall building, which once also contained a jail and the fire station. The building to the right of city hall was the First National Bank.
