Audrey Westby

Audrey Westby, age 92, a resident of rural Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, died peacefully on Wednesday May 27, 2026, at Pelican Valley Care Center. Audrey Elaine (Rollie) Westby was born March 10, 1934, to Bernhard and Clara (Maasjo) Rollie. Audrey was baptized and confirmed at South Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Audrey graduated from Pelican Rapids High School in 1952. She attended Swedish Hospital School of Nursing in Minneapolis. It is there she received her RN Nursing degree in 1955. As a Nurse, her love and compassion of caring for others was a gift to so many.

On December 3, 1955, Audrey was united in marriage to Ordean Westby at Trinity Lutheran Church, Pelican Rapids. Their life together began on the family farm. It is there they raised seven sons, instilling in them work ethic, respect and love for one another. Family was priority, and every meal was served around the family table. Her scalloped potatoes, homemade buns, and a lot of hot dishes were enjoyed by all. Sunday was church…no exceptions. Can you imagine sitting in church with seven boys? Audrey loved music, playing soprano saxophone in high school band, singing in church choirs and playing piano—even accompanying her three sons playing a trumpet trio.

Audrey is survived by her 5 sons: Bob (Dawn) Westby, Erhard, MN; Allen (Linda) Westby, Erhard, MN; Peter (Jeannie) Westby, Pelican Rapids, MN; Pat (Cathy) Westby, Sauk Centre, MN; Chris (Angie) Westby, Pelican Rapids, MN; and daughter-in-law, Pam Westby; 13 grandchildren: Andrea (Joe Kauffman) Westby, Tami (Jason) Johnson, Brooke (Kyle) Wormsbecker, Monica (Joe) Schneider, Sam (Heather) Westby, Abbie (Derek) Savage, Lucas (Sarah) Westby, Kate (Abe) Campos, Kristin (RJ Bailer) Westby, Haley (Alex) Goodmanson, Isaiah Westby, McKenna (Jakob) soon-to-be Stender; 16 great-grandchildren: Davis and Phoebe Johnson; Reese Wormsbecker; Amelia and Genevieve Schneider; Olivia and Harrison Westby; Robert and Asher Savage; Addilyn, Otto, and Nels Westby; Jacob, Lily, Noah, and Tommy Campos; sister-in-law, Ann Westby, Minneapolis, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews. Audrey was preceded in death by her husband, Ordean; sons, Michael and Steven Westby; granddaughter, Faith Westby; parents, Bernhard and Clara Rollie; and her six siblings, James, Marvin, Bernice, LaVerne, Richard, and Darlene.

Blessed be the Memory of Audrey Westby. Visitation will be on Friday, June 5, 2026, from 10-11 a.m. with funeral service at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Pelican Rapids, MN. Burial will be at Central Lutheran Cemetery, Pelican Rapids, MN.
