Cool river, hot reads in Pelican Rapids

Cora Johnson, a Pelican Rapids second-grader, cools off in the Pelican River with a book after a stop at the Pelican Rapids Public Library, where she’s been racking up minutes for the library’s 2026 Summer Reading Challenge. This year’s program, themed ‘Plant a Seed. Read. Grow.,’ runs through mid-August and is open to all ages 0-18, with kids earning prizes for tracking their reading minutes.
