PELICAN RAPIDS BOARD OF EDUCATION REGULAR BOARD MEETING  November 15, 2023

The Pelican Rapids Board of Education held a regular meeting on November 15, 2023 in the conference room at the high

school at 7:00 p.m. Board members present: Anne Peterson, Greg Larson, Molly Welch, Brenda Olson, Jon Karger (MicrosoftTeams), and Staci Allmaras (MicrosoftTeams).

Board Members Absent: None.

Student Representatives present: Eduardo Sanchez and Ellie Welch

Student Representatives absent: None

Others Present: Brian Korf, Emily Evenson, PJ Breen, Laura Januszewski, Derrick Nelson, Rudy Martinez, Craig Samuelson, Lance Roisum, Chris Coleman, Peter Restad, Jaclyn Porto, and Flavio Porto.

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. and the pledge of allegiance was led by Vice-Chair, Anne Peterson.

Greg Larson moved to approve the meeting agenda. The motion was seconded by Brenda Olson and carried with all present members voting in favor.

Brenda Olson made a motion to approve the March 2024 Spanish Trip. The motion was seconded by Molly Welch and carried, upon a vote being taken. The following voted in favor: Molly Welch, Anne Peterson, Brenda Olson, Greg Larson, Staci Allmaras, and Jon Karger. The following voted against: None.

Jon Karger made a motion to approve the Dedication Request to name the gym floor in the Leader’s Gymnasium the “Rex

Haugen Court.” The motion was seconded by Brenda Olson and carried, upon a vote being taken. The following voted in favor: Anne Peterson, Brenda Olson, Greg Larson, Jon Karger. The following voted against: Molly Welch, Staci Allmaras.

Greg Larson made a motion to approve the second reading of the following policies.

624: Online Learning

The motion was seconded by Molly Welch and carried, upon a vote being taken. The following voted in favor: Molly Welch, Anne Peterson, Brenda Olson, Greg Larson, Jon Karger, and Staci Allmaras. The following voted against: None.
